FAQs
Get Tuition Limited was incorporated in 2020 around the time the first lockdown due to COVID was announced. However, our founder, Mr. Farooq Ahmed has been tutoring for over 35 years. His tutoring journey started when he was studying for his GCE O Level Exams and has continued in one form or another to date.
We provide in person and online tuitions for 11+ (Grammar and Public School Exams), KS2 SATS, GCSE, IGCSE, IB, A Levels and for undergraduate University courses. Currently in person tuitions are provided primarily in the SW16 area of London. However, in the future, we hope to provide sessions in other locations as well.
All our UK team members are DBS checked. All our non-UK team members have to undergo a corresponding vetting check in the country they are based in.
Most tutors have either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in their chosen subject. Some student tutors are in the final year of completing a Bachelor’s degree in their chosen subject. All our tutors have at least two years of tutoring experience with a majority of them having over five years of experience tutoring their relevant subject.
All tutors go through an interview process and are asked to provide 3 one hour long trial sessions on relevant topics to students of different ages. Based on positive feedback from the interview and trial sessions, tutors are then hired.
Student progress is evaluated based on regular feedback which is solicited from students and their parents by tutors and by the management team at Get Tuition Limited. Parents are also asked to forward any feedback and marked tests received from their children’s school. Tutors regularly carry out short revision quizzes and test students’ understanding through formative feedback.
Please get in touch through our contact us page. Please tell us what your tutoring requirements are and we will get in touch to arrange one or more free trial sessions based on your request. All of our trial sessions are one hour long. The purpose of these trial sessions is for our tutors to get some sense of the student’s learning style and current attainment and for the student to get some understanding of the tutor’s teaching style. If the student is happy with the tutor’s teaching methodology and ability to explain concepts, we then put in place a schedule that is mutually convenient for the student and tutor.
Once we have agreed a mutually convenient tutoring schedule, we request payment monthly in advance.
At the moment we offer payment by bank transfer. In the future we hope to offer payment via debit and credit cards as well.
